London
Just got back from 10 days in London. It was a great trip, considering, spent with friends I admire, respect & love. It was cool to watch Londoners sending a big "fuck you" to terrorists, displaying their compassion, humor and resolve in the aftermath. I heard this band on the trip: She Makes War rocks...check them out. Posted 04. 7.2005 | Comments [9]
TV Reality
So some songs from Right About Now were on this reality show called My Best Friend's Date. I dont own a TV so I didn't see it. Just kidding, I own a TV but I've always wanted to say that. Seriously, I think TV sucks and as soon as Starting Over is over, we're canceling cable. Its too expensive, too depressing & too awful. Back to channels 2 to 13. That's so 1974. I'm pysched. United States of Nakatica
I found this interesting. My last 2 posts (now revised) involved some "questionable interpretations" of the Bush & Kerry daughters. Last night at rehearsal, Christian made it clear that he thought they were inappropriate for a couple of reasons, the main reason being that it's been RR's custom to keep our music & politics separate. I agreed, respected his position & edited them. After all, my original intention was just to try and not be boring when writing another post about some show. I was not trying to make a political statement. Or was I? The original posts depicted Alexandra Kerry as a ruthless dominatrix & Jenna Bush as a stupid party girl. Maybe my intention was to vent my frustration with the ugly vibes floating around out there, in this another cut-throat election year. Maybe our music has flirted with pointing the finger at some political & religious hypocrisies. After all, how many times can you write about your fucking heart breaking? But basically, I agree with Nakata. And Elvis Presley. Whenever a reporter asked him his political view on an issue he'd say "I'm an entertainer, baby, not a politician." CK |
